TEAMS
The elder brother of Amar Singh, Ramji was a tall and well-built fast-medium bowler who gave it all in the opening overs and achieved notable success for the Hindus in the Bombay Quadrangular tournament. He played his only Test against England at Bombay in 1933-34, the first Test on Indian soil but achieved little. In a first-class career that lasted a little over a decade, Ramji captured 111 wickets at 18.80. He died at a young age after he contracted gangrene in his leg and refused to have it amputated.
