Rain forecast was correct with no play at Bristol

When you hear a weather forecast as bad as that the previous evening on TV or Radio and there is a match the next day, you hope that they get it all wrong

When you hear a weather forecast as bad as that the previous evening on TV or Radio, and there is a match the next day, you hope that they get it all wrong. However Friday the weathermen got it right (some would say for a change), and incessant rain fell all night in Bristol and well into Friday afternoon.
After the lunch break, Umpires David Constant and Mark Benson in consultation with the captains Mark Alleyne and Robin Smith, who was acting on behalf of John Crawley in bed with a mild bug back at the hotel, decided that the chances of play were nil.
The Hampshire players returned to their hotel, to make use of the swimming pool, jacuzzi and leasure facilities.
On a personal note for Saturday - "Good luck Saints".
