South Africa allrounder Robin Peterson has moved to the Cape Cobras. He was contracted to the Warriors for another year, but requested a transfer because his partner wants to pursue her career in Cape Town.
Peterson will make his debut for the Cobras this Saturday when they take on the IPL champions Rajasthan Royals at Newlands. The match is the first warm-up game ahead of the IPL which begins on April 18 following the move to South Africa.
"We are making an investment in an experienced three-in-one player who will make the current Twenty20 champions even stronger in this area," Cape Cobras chief executive Andre Odendaal, said. "We see Robin following in the mould of pros like Alan Dawson, Adam Bacher, Charl Langeveldt and Claude Henderson who have come through for us at key times in tight situations in the past few seasons."
An attacking left-handed batsman and left-arm spinner, Peterson has played 35 ODIs and five Twenty20 internationals for South Africa, in addition to six Tests.
