Lahore, Feb 14: The Pakistan cricket team had a training session at
the Gaddafi Stadium on Monday immediately after arriving from Karachi.
Speedster Shoaib Akhtar and all-rounder Azhar Mahmood, who were named
for the final two one-dayers, will join the training session on
Tuesday, Pakistan coach Intikhab Alam said.
He said that availability of two key cricketers was a good sign for
the Pakistan team which lost the opener at Karachi by 29 runs in the
three-match series.
Shoaib didn't play at Karachi because of one-match ban while Azhar was
nursing groin injury.
He said Younis Khan showed remarkable performance in Karachi and hoped
that he would cement his place in the team.
Intikhab Alam supported Saeed Anwar's decision of fielding first after
winning the toss, adding all the decision look wrong when the team
ends up on the losing side.
The Pakistan cricket team held the training session from 3.30pm
onwards.
The Sri Lankan had an off-day.
Both the teams will hold practice sessions on Tuesday morning before
leaving for Gujranwala in the afternoon.
The second one-day will be played there on Wednesday while the final
game will be played here at the Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday.
