Lance Klusener was out without scoring for the third
consecutive time. Infact his last three innings have lasted
for only four balls. He became second South African to
achieve the dubious distinction of scoring three consecutive
ducks after Craig Matthews who recorded three scoreless
innings in succession in 1994,though in five matches. The duck was Klusener's ninth in his career. Now only Allan
Donald (11) has aggregated more ducks than Klusener in ODIs
for South Africa.Mark Boucher's innings is the higehst by a South African
?keeper against Pakistan. The previous best was 53 by Dave
Richardson at Durban on 17-12-1994.Incidentally Boucher's
innings is the second highest by a South African wicketkeeper
in all ODIs after Bocuher's own 68 against India at Nagpur on
19-03-2000.Waqar Younis (4-62) took four wickets in a match for 22nd
time in his career. With this he surpassed fellow teammate
Wasim Akram's tally of 21 such hauls. It was Waqar's third four wicket haul against South Africa.
He has now joined Australia's Shane Warne and England's
Darren Gough as the bowlers who have taken four wickets on
most occasions : thrice each.Waqar's figures (4-62) are the ninth most expensive by a
bowler capturing four or more wickets in a match.
Interestingly Waqar himself occupies the top slot in this
list.The details :
