Derbyshire have made an approach for Graeme Hick

He may be entering his fifth decade, but there's no stopping Graeme Hick - and now Derbyshire have made an approach for him. The Worcestershire batsman confirmed that Derbyshire's coach David Houghton had talked to him in their recent Championship match and that they had made the approach, but he refused to comment further at this stage.
If Hick did leave New Road the move would be a big one for him, as he has been at New Road for 23 seasons. While he was tight-lipped on the subject of the approach, he did say that he would definitely be playing county cricket next season one way or another. He has already been offered a one-year extension on his contract by Worcestershire.
Even though he will turn 41 next year, Hick has showed no signs of slowing for Worcestershire, rather he has been in yet another purple patch after an indifferent start to the year. Indeed, he recently became only the second player since the war to score 100 first-class hundreds for his county, alongside Geoff Boycott.
