Each team to receive a maximum of 40 overs, with each bowler restricted to 8 overs and the bowler's run-up restricted to 15 yards.
If two or more teams finish in on the same number of points in any of the first three places, the positions will be decided on the most wins, or if still equal, the most away wins, or if still equal the highest average run-rate per over throughout the season. Counties with the same number of points in other than first three places share the position.

Sixes award: 1000 pounds to be shared equally by each six hit - there were 411 in all. 200 pounds was awarded to the batsman hitting the most sixes - I.V.A.Richards of Somerset with 26 took the prize.
Bowling award: 1000 pounds to be shared equally by each four wickets in an innings performance - there were 52 in all. 200 pounds was awarded to the bowler with most such feats - A.W.Greig of Sussex, M.J.Procter of Gloucestershire and G.Richards of Glamorgan achieved the feat on 3 occasions and shared the award.
