The eviction of West Indian batsmen from the crease at Headingley proved to be more of a draw than the demise of "Nasty" Nick on Channel 4's Big Brother. CricInfo.com, the world's leading cricket web site, announced that 8 million page impressions were recorded on Friday. As England dismissed Jimmy Adams' team for just 61 runs to win the Test Match within two days, the drama unfolded live on www.ecb.co.uk with ball-by-ball coverage and live audio commentary.

Big Brother meanwhile claimed that their 7.4 million page impressions made eviction of Nick "the biggest event in the history of the web" and "the UK's favourite web site" which brought offices across the country to a standstill.

Ralph Dellor, CricInfo's Director of Cricket Operations said: "Over the last few years English cricket can match any of the dramas of Big Brother, and the Headingley Test is yet another example. After every match we have the nominations for eviction, we have tears and recriminations or joy and elation."
