Ralph Dellor CricInfo, the world's leading cricket web site, has appointed Ralph Dellor as Director of Cricket Operations. Dellor, who has 30 years of experience working within the cricket media, will have overall responsibility for the editorial content of CricInfo.com and the various sites it hosts. In addition to the content, Dellor will continue to head CricInfo's team for the audio ball-by-ball commentary.

Dellor joins CricInfo at a time when the company is undergoing rapid growth. A deal was signed in June with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to produce and manage the official England web site, www.ecb.co.uk, making CricInfo host to seven out of ten official web sites of the Test playing nations. In May this year Satyam Infoway, an Indian-based ISP, invested $37 million in the company, valuing CricInfo at $150 million. CricInfo launched its audio commentary service in July, featuring, in addition to Dellor, Tony Cozier, Jack Bannister, Jed Pitman, Colin Croft and Neil Foster.

Ralph Dellor said of his appointment: "I'm joining CricInfo during an exciting period of growth and development. Considering CricInfo is already the biggest cricket site already, the potential is enormous. I will be concentrating on shaping the editorial content of all the CricInfo sites, but initially my focus will have to be on ecb.co.uk, as the newest member of the CricInfo network."

Simon King, Chief Executive of CricInfo said: "Ralph is going to play an extremely important role in the growth and development of CricInfo. We have traditionally been very strong on cricket statistics and the editorial elements are also vital to the site's success, so the appointment of an experienced director was vital. Ralph will also help us develop our audio and video services and build a team to implement these strategies."
