CricInfo has signed an exclusive agreement with Lahore Country Club to promote this new Pakistani sports and leisure facility to internet users worldwide.

CricInfo.com, the world's most popular cricket web site, will be providing live scorecard coverage of Pakistan's two Test match series and three one-day internationals against the West Indies being played in Sharjah at www.pcb.cricinfo.com. The coverage links to www.cricnews.com, which gives users comprehensive information about the state-of-the-art facilities at the Lahore Country Club.

The purpose-built Lahore Country Club hosts some of the best cricket and leisure facilities in the sub-continent. The Lahore Cricket Academy, housed at the Country Club, includes an international-size cricket arena and extensive practice facilities. It provides expert coaching and offers young cricketers trials for the Pakistan squad under the watchful gaze of Mr Intikhab Alam and Mr Aqib Javed.

In addition to cricket, the Lahore Country Club also provides holidays catering for a wide range of leisure pursuits. A First class cricket ground, private villas, football, a deluxe hotel, health club, fishing lake, boating, horse-riding, cycling, swimming, tennis, badminton, and much more can all be provided for members and visitors.

The future for the Lahore Country Club promises a nine-hole golf course, night cricket, a living Punjabi village, an open-air cinema and theatre, a bowling alley, and a squash court.

Mr Suhael Ahmed, CEO of CricInfo Pakistan said "The efforts made by the management of LCA are to be applauded in bringing first class coaching and leisure facilities to Pakistan. Visiting this 'oasis' is an experience in itself and coupled with the latest in cricket coaching equipment, LCA is helping the promotion of cricket in Pakistan. CricInfo is pleased that LCA has decided to sponsor this series and we hope that this will help make the LCA a success due to the worldwide exposure".

Mr Intikhab Alam said "I feel proud that my association with cricket continues and at the Academy I am able to coach and groom new talent. The unique advantage this academy offers is the ability to train cricketers without the worries of accommodation in an 'all in house' facility".

Mr Ali Shujaat, CEO of Lahore Cricket Academy said "We have made sure to include the best possible facilities to develop cricket in Pakistan as well as offer international standard leisure 'resort style' accommodation for the visitors to the Lahore Country Club and Cricket Academy. I feel that sponsoring our achievement through CricInfo will help attract visitors and also allow the Pakistan Cricket Board to select those that have the talent to play for Pakistan. I must take this opportunity to thank the PCB Chairman for his encouragement and selection of overseas Pakistani origin boys to play for Pakistan National teams and giving our cricket ground first class status. I am confident that in future in England we will see even more young Asian origin cricketers representing their counties who would have been trained at Lahore Cricket Academy".
