19.1 Flintoff to Frew, FOUR, oooh! shortish ball just outside off stump,
gets a streaky thick edge which falls just short of the slips,
between second and third, and races down to the vacant third man
        boundary

20.1 Caddick to Harris, no run, dear oh dear! what a shaky start for
Harris, pads up to a fullish, straight ball which straightens on
him, huge appeal for lbw as he's rapped flush on the pads, umpire
Anderson keeps the finger down but it looked an awful good shout
20.2 Caddick to Harris, no run, tight shortish ball on off stump, hops
on the crease, taps it down in close on the off side of the pitch
        in defence
20.3 Caddick to Harris, no run, shortish ball angling away outside off
stump, shoulders arms through to the keeper
20.4 Caddick to Harris, no run, oooh boy oh boy! Caddick can't believe
it, Harris has a second life in his first four balls, short
lifting ball just outside off stump, flinches at it and there's a
noise, a huge appeal for caught behind, most vociferous of all
        from the bowler, but
again umpire Anderson says not out, England are besides themselves
        in disbelief!
20.5 Caddick to Harris, no run, shortish ball outside off stump, left
well alone through to the keeper

MJ Hoggard 9-4-10-1 (1nb)
RM Frew 15* (78b 1x4) CZ Harris 14* (31b 3x4)

and that is lunch on the opening day, with Frew hanging around for
the entire session in typically obdurate fashion, scoring just 15
runs, but outlasting four batting partners in doing so
Harris is lucky to still be there after two very close escapes in
his first four balls, but has since looked more assured
the bowling stand-out is clearly Caddick, with a good long spell
and three wickets to boot, while Hoggard bowled very steadily in
        support
play is set to resume in just under 40 minutes time at 2:40pm local
