2006 HKCA Coaching Awards [18.04.2007]

An awards night for Hong Kong's Cricket Coaches was held on 27th March 2007 at the India Club. There were several awards presented including the HKCA Coach of the Year.

The HKCA and the Hong Kong Coaching Committee hope to make this an annual function to give thanks to the coaches who put in a lot of effort to continue to build interest in the game amongst children and develop junior talent to play international cricket for Hong Kong.

The 2006 award winners are:

  • Coach of the Year: Najeeb Amar
  • Level 2 Coaching Award: Afzaal Haider
  • Level 1 Coaching Award: Ghulam Saqlain
  • Coaching Excellence Awards for School Development Programme: Jawaid Iqbal, Lama Sher, Munir Hussain
  • Coaching Excellence Awards for Cricket Centre: Janet Cheung, Nasir Hameed, William Chan

 

HKACUS Elementary Umpire's Course [18.11.2005]

An HKACUS introductory umpiring course will be held on 12-14 December (three consecutive evenings) at the Hong Kong Cricket Club (Grace Suite), from 7.30 to 9 pm.

The trainers will be Alan Swift and Anoop Gidwani. It will be Alan's final training course before he returns to England, so make the most of the opportunity while you can! Using video, areas to be covered include LBW, No ball, Dead ball, Wide and the various ways of being dismissed. There will be a test at the end of the course, and those who pass will be issued with an HKACUS certificate. The course is free.

All teams are urged to send two representatives, one of whom will preferably be the team captain, to this very informative and practical umpiring course. All teams should in fact have two representatives in their Club who have completed an HKACUS umpiring course to meet League requirements.

ACC Elementary Umpiring Course 2005 [25.07.2005]

The ACC Elementary Umpiring Course is designed for those who are interested in becoming potential umpires or wish to learn the laws of cricket. HKCA members and representatives from league teams are encouraged to join this course. All are welcome to join free of charge, even without prior experience in umpiring. For each day of attendance, participants are eligible to receive HK$190 as daily allowance. Lunch will be provided.
